Frost and salt resistance
Products of BETON-LUČKO contain labels in line with HR EN 1338, HR EN 1339 and HR EN 134 standards, which guarantee resistance to frost and salt!
All products intended for use in locations where, alongside frost, there are also solubilizing agents present (e.g. salt for spreading on roads), are resistant to weather conditions which usually have negative effects on such products. These products can be brought into contact with aggressive substances, such as salt for spreading on roads during frost and other substances used for melting of frozen surfaces. The relevant resistance is tested in our (outdoor) certified laboratory. The cycle plan for freezing and thawing of products soaked in salt solution is in line with HRN EN norms. This is used to simulate severe weather conditions experienced in nature.
Abrasion (wear) resistance
Cement abrasion is a characteristic of traffic surfaces - from pedestrian tracks to roads and airport runways. On surfaces that have to be well resistant to abrasion, the surface layer is produced from a quartz aggregate or igneous rock (which is the case with all our products) or with the addition of other hard and abrasion resistant grains, e.g. corundum, quartz, etc. Often steel or other types of fibre are added to the finishing layer. Research has shown a good correlation between abrasion and compressive strength, but the cement rock is definitely the least resistant part of concrete, so it is necessary to achieve hardness with as little cement rock as possible.
Slip resistance
All BETON-LUČKO pavers in their top abrasive layer are made from materials which are slip resistant, thus meeting all security requirements of the user, both for public and private surfaces.
Vehicular traffic allowed
BETON-LUČKO pavers are produced through compaction of concrete using vibration, thus enabling excellent compressive strength* (*resistance with which the material opposes the destruction per unit area - resistance to crushing), as well as resistance to heavy traffic of trucks and other vehicles. As a rule, for this type of heavy traffic we recommend a paver of 8cm thickness, but for regular car traffic and with a tampon base that was done well (see Instructions for paving), the pavers do not have to be more than 6 cm thick.
Environmentally friendly
Concrete is a valuable construction material and it is very safe and durable, and concrete pavers are made from materials which are undoubtedly environmentally friendly.
In one of its studies the National Environmental Organization compared different products from an ecological point of view, and the results were as follows:
BETON-LUČKO pays great attention to preserving people’s health and the environment!
